How long does it take to get weight loss surgery?
A typical patient will meet one of our bariatric surgeons and the support staff at the free Bariatric Information Seminar, which is usually held weekly. Depending on medical clearances and insurance/financial clearances, the whole process may takethree to six months, depending on individual insurance requirements.

What are the long term effects of gastric sleeve?
Bariatric surgery carries some long-term risks for patients, including: Dumping syndrome, a condition that can lead to symptoms like nausea and dizziness. Low blood sugar. Malnutrition.

How long does it take for your stomach to heal after gastric sleeve surgery?
This entire process aims to let the stomach heal and patients usually return to work and their normal routine four to six weeks after the surgery. It is normal to notice alterations in the digestive process and bowel movements.

Is bariatric surgery painful?
You may feel pain at your incision site or from the position your body was in during surgery. Some patients also experience neck and shoulder pain after laparoscopic bariatric surgery. Although it is normal to experience some discomfort after surgery, keeping your pain under control is necessary for recovery.
